THERMOMETERS
THERMOMETER CALIBRATION
In order to be in compliance with HACCP regulations we recommend the following thermometers be calibrated or calibration verified. Please follow the manufacturers procedures when calibrating
all thermometers. Accuracy will be improved when calibrating to
a temperature close to that measured. Always calibrate using a known temperature source (NIST traceable certified thermometer or instrument). Calibration should be performed on a regular basis as indicated by the table to the right.
* Tel-Tru Manufacturing Company recommends: Thermometers used daily should be checked daily to verify their accuracy. ;The method of checking thermometer accuracy should be in comparison to instruments whose accuracy is also verified and documented as traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Testing (NIST).; A known temperature source should be used which is stable, consistent and whose accuracy may bedocumentedastraceabletoNIST.; Duetotypicalstandardtolerancesoferrorinvarioustemperature measurement instruments the calibration verification check and recalibration (if necessary) be done at a temperature that is equal to or reasonably close to the critical limit for monitoring a critical control point.
